A Revolution Is A Dramatic And Wide Reaching Change

A revolution is a dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people s ideas about it. Mankind has experienced three life changing revolutions that Yuval Noah Harari discusses in his book Sapiens. There has been a cognitive, an agricultural, and a scientific revolution, and now Nick Bostrom explores in his book, Superintelligence, how life would advance with a fourth one, a transhuman revolution. Finding the right path to artificial intelligence (AI) will lead to advancements for humankind that in relation to the past three revolutions could result in the start of a new journey, or in the end of the life humans now know. In relation to the previous three revolutions, the transhuman revolution will share many similarities in the patterns that occurred in each revolution. The main foundation of any revolution is cooperation, curiosity, and creativity by the people, and that serves to be true for the agricultural, cognitive, and scientific revolutions and will be a main platform for the transhuman revolution as well. Along with this, each past revolution has undergone an increase in collective intelligence. Bostrom proves this when he states, â€Å"Humanity has gained enormously in collective intelligence over the course of history and prehistory.
