Am I Blue?

The rising action begins when the protagonist encounters Blue and she develops a relationship and understanding of the horse. She makes a conjunction with Blue and uses personification to describe the human qualities that the horse possesses. Alice Walker writes, “Blue was lonely. Blue was horribly lonely and bored.” The protagonist nurtures the horse by feeding him apples and closely examines him as time progresses.

The protagonist in the short story states, “It was quite wonderful to disrupt up a few apples, or collect those that had locomote to the end overnight, and patiently hold them, one by one, up to his larg e toothy mouth.” The turning point of! the story occurs when other horse gallops into Blue’s life and was placed to live in the same five acres of land. The naked as a jaybird horse was depict to be dark-brown and although Blue was frightened at first, they curtly become friends. The cuss clerk (protagonist) begins to take notice of a new numerate in Blue’s eyes – one of independence and self-possession rather then loneliness and alienation.
